Uniform Securities Agent State
Law Exam
The Series 63 exam is required by most states to become registered
as a Uniform Securities Agent with the North American Securities
Administrators (NASAA). It qualifies an individual to sell securities.

EXAM PREREQUISITES:
The NASD has no stipulated requirements.
|
|
THE EXAM:
This exam is administered by the NASD and is composed of 60 questions.
Students are given 75 minutes to complete the exam. The test is
comprised of four-option multiple-choice questions. The exam is
computer-based, although no special computer skills are required.
Students are provided with scratch paper, a pencil and a simple
calculator at the testing center. Students must receive a score
of 70% or better to pass.

The License
Exam Manual assists in preparing for the exam needed
to obtain a Series 63 license. It covers the following material
with the weighting of each area for the exam:
- Administrative provisions of the Uniform Securities Act (6

- Registration of persons (18 questions, or 30%)
- Business practices (21 questions, or 35%)
